Three month old baby giggles. Eyes as blue as the sky. That home-sweet-home feeling. I don’t think I have laughed or snorted on a family session as much as I did with Sarah, Mike, + John! Sarah + Mike graciously welcomed me to their gorgeous home in Hamilton for their first photo session as a family of five (we can’t forget Stella and Bella)!

With Sarah and Mike coming up on their two year wedding anniversary, they were reminiscing how huge life events have been happening back-to-back for their growing family. They met. Got engaged. Sarah finished her residency program. Got married. Moved into their home. And now they are welcoming their son, John!

I love being able to tell each of my client’s stories in their own unique way. So, it is an extra special treat when clients choose their session location because it holds a special place in their hearts. For Sarah + Mike, this location is so perfect because it is the backyard of their very first home together! Having such a personal location for this special session is the perfect display for their story. It also does not hurt that their backyard literally looks like a park. The sunset peaking through the trees. Light glistening on the shore of their pond. And just being able to enjoy this space together as a growing family, it was truly an honor.

Mike + Sarah, I know I told you guys that my favorite part of most family sessions is being able to capture a few moments of mom and dad together (it is so rare after those engagement and wedding photos, that we take the time to showcase the relationship and love that started your family)! But, I have to say, John may have been the exception! I literally had some much fun giggling with him and getting those bright blue eyes on camera. Your son is so precious! I feel so blessed to have been able to share this evening with you guys! Thank you for welcoming me to your home and belly laughing throughout the entire session!
