Big eyes. Fresh new baby smell. Pursed lips. Stretched out legs. Baby hiccups. The littlest McHale. Anderson just got an (adorable) new neighbor! Christa + Eddie welcomed their son, Jackson McHale a little over 2 weeks ago. The (four) of us met up in June for their maternity session at French Park, and now we are back at it for their very first family session! This is such a special season for them, and it is an honor to capture these moments for them. And it is an honor that they keep asking me to!

I actually got to meet Jackson the first time while they were all still at the hospital! Now, before you ask me if I visit all of my maternity clients in the hospital, Eddie is actually my boyfriend’s brother. So, these three already feel like family to me. I got to visit them in the hospital when Jackson was just a few days old. He was officially the tiniest baby I have every held, coming in at 5 lbs 12oz. He has grown a bit since I saw him last, but he is still just the tiniest little bundle of cuteness! When we finished this session, Christa asked if I wanted to hold him for a little bit, and I ended up staying quite awhile. I almost ‘forgot’ I was holding Jackson so I could steal him. Alas, his parents are privy to kidnappers. Good work, guys.

Eddie, I overheard you talking to Jackson when I was taking photos of his nursery. You had a running commentary of changing his diaper that was absolutely brilliant. You have already grown into this whole ‘Dad-thing’ so seamlessly. I mean, you already had the Dad jokes down!

Christa. One, you are a freaking beast. I am so impressed by your birth story and how much of a warrior you are! Two, Eddie and Jackson are two lucky men. You lady, are the real freaking deal. Your ability to take such a tumultuous season of life and take it with such stride and grace is an inspiration. You should be so proud!

Happy Anniversary, Christa + Eddie! It was the perfect one to welcome your son. Ah, so much love.
