A cool spring morning on the river. Sunrise glistening off the downtime skyline. One little boy pointing out all the cars and trucking leisurely driving by. One yellow ball and a mother’s hug to make the morning better. The sleepy ‘snores’ from Mom and Dad. The Koehler family session at George Rogers Clark Park in Covington was a great way to spend Saturday morning!
I always like to coach my RMP families prior to a session with littles that we really roll with the punches. Playing catch with rocks in the alleyway. Splashing in the water fountain at the center of the park. Spinning so fast with Dad and getting just a little too dizzy. I am there to capture those precious moments between the chaos that we call life.
A mother’s smile at her son showing off a flower petal he found on the ground. Rapid fire kisses from Dad. Jumping as high as possible, along the banks of the Ohio river. Saying ‘bye bye’ to the barge carrying unknown treasures to the next port. The sweet hug from your Mom when the cracker snack just didn’t hit the spot. These moments are what constitute our days. These moments are worth capturing and cherishing.
With Mother’s Day next week, I was struck by these two images between Lauren and Sam. The complete trust and love between these two. I feel privileged to have captured this during your session. I know sometimes we are always chasing the perfect moment. Or at least the Instagram worthy photo. These moments right here, though. Real. Raw. These are the photos that I can’t help but fall in love with.
Lauren + Daniel, thank you for hanging out with me at George Rogers Clark Park on Saturday for your first full length family session! I am still a little bit in shock that we have so many people overlap in our lives. So, I had to go back and look through the Bailey’s session at the same place, just two years apart! I can’t wait to see you guys again soon!
